NCINC2 will hold its first meeting of 2017 on Saturday, February 25th at 2pm at the Fannie Mae Stewart Conservatory (1902 E. 22nd Street). All are welcome!
Our agenda will include:
- Discussion of proposed by-laws changes OR formation of separate, non-related advocacy effort within the geographic bounds of north central Austin
- Neighborhood updates, including TxDOT concepts for the Airport Blvd/IH35 intersection
- Nominations of new officers

The Delwood 2, Mueller and Wilshire Wood/Delwood I Neighborhood Associations delivered a joint letter to TxDOT at the conclusion of the IH35 NEPA environmental review public input process last month. This letter channeled the disappointment from the neighborhood organizations over a disorganized September 11th presentation from TxDOT consultants and was the product of a series of meetings between representatives of the three neighborhood associations. At our September meeting, NCINC2 delegates voted to approve a letter to TxDOT as our official response to the Mobility35 NEPA public input period for the Central 7-Mile Comprehensive Project that includes IH35 through north central Austin. TxDOT representatives kicked off a public input period on Tuesday, September 20th with an Open House in Windsor Park. The public input period, which will last only two weeks, is required for the project as part of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) Environmental Assessment for the project.
The Delwood II Neighborhood Association will host representatives of TxDOT at the neighborhood’s regular meeting on Sunday, September 11th.
At the request of the neighborhood, TxDOT has agreed to a two-hour question & answer format to respond to neighbor questions and concerns specific to the neighborhood area. The City Council Mobility Committee convened yesterday with some extra Council faces on the dias to hear presentations from CapMetro on Connections2025 and Project Connect and a briefing from Assistant City Manager Robert Goode on staff’s study into a 2016 Mobility Bond before opening a public discussion intended to steer a possible referendum in the coming weeks.
