NCINC2 Letter to TxDOT re the Mobility35 Capital Area Improvement Plan, 26 May 2015

Dear Ms. Lorenzini and Messrs. Webber, Malatek, and McCoy,

On July 26, 2014 the North Central I-35 Neighborhood Coalition 2 (NCINC2) delivered a letter to TxDOT outlining a series of responses to the Mobility35 Capital Area Improvement Plan on behalf of our constituent neighborhoods. In this letter, we voiced our broad-based positions regarding the Mobility35 Segment 4 impacts on neighborhood accessibility and connectivity, bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure and safety, ramp access to and from IH35, development projections for the corridor, alternate routes and traffic studies, future rail compatibility and air quality and noise pollution. This letter was acknowledged by TxDOT representatives but we have to date received no response regarding our positions. NCINC2 Asks TxDOT to Form North Central Stakeholder Group for Mobility 35 Plans

Following the May 1st neighborhood workshop with TXDOT and North Central neighborhood stakeholder representatives and the June 26th resolution from City Council supporting a stakeholder group for Segment 4 of the I-35 Capital Area Improvement Plan (CAIP) Mobility35 Plan, the North Central I-35 Neighborhood Coalition 2 (NCINC2) including delegates of Blackland, Cherrywood, Delwood II, Eastwoods, Hancock, Mueller, Ridgetop, Mt. North Central Neighborhoods Form Working Group for Better I-35 Solutions

Cherrywood Letter re Mobility 35

Members of the Cherrywood Neighborhood Association (CNA) will be directly affected by proposed modifications to IH35 and surrounding streets associated with the I-35 Capital Area Improvement Program (“Mobility 35”).  The CNA is particularly interested in the Travis County planning process for “Segment 4”.  The CNA has a long standing policy to support greater connectivity with adjacent neighborhoods and public resources, and specifically supports improving east/west mobility across IH35. Mueller Raises Early Red Flag Over the Implementation of “Super Streets” on I-35 Frontage Roads, Calls for Stakeholder Working Group
